Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has directed the duplication of Dubai Police’s Electronic Volunteering Platform initiative across Dubai government departments, to promote the spirit of volunteering.

Sheikh Hamdan said that such initiatives reflect the UAE’s approach in promoting tolerance and compassion, as well as enhance the notion of social responsibility, especially among youth.

His Highness also praised Dubai Police’s initiative which allows its staff to review all volunteering opportunities, and select the ones that match their skills to support. His Highness also commended Dubai Police Academy for allocating 120 hours of volunteering work as part of its curriculum for students, and 30 hours for new recruits.

Sheikh Hamdan said that Dubai Police is leading by example in implementing the vision of the UAE’s leadership, showing highest levels of dedication and patriotism. His Highness also praised various community initiatives of Dubai Police, which serve society and ensure people’s happiness.

Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, said that the new e-platform translates the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to enhance social responsibility.

He explained that the platform also complies with the “Day for Dubai” initiative, launched by H.H Sheikh Hamdan to further establish volunteering values, and demonstrate how such contributions can generate positive impact on the society.  The new initiative aims to encourage employees to allocate part of their time for social work, Al Marri clarified.

Secretary General of The Executive Council of Dubai H.E. Abdulla Al Basti said that the launch of the Platform highlights the importance of volunteering as an important tool in serving the welfare of the community. Al Basti hailed Dubai police’s awareness and enthusiasm for social contributions, underlining the importance of such initiatives that help encourage collaboration among community members and open the door for their greater involvement in serving their society.
